Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef for the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. The host of her show is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her signature spikey blonde locks and pump to the max, shares basic techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and geography. Also, she was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at young age. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." I was unable to learn enough, didn't perform enough or work hard enough. Chef Burrell was a graduate of The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy worked for one year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and it has had an impact on her eating habits. Burrell is a famous ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. As a guest speaker and coach, she travels throughout the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her career. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne has always said I feel blessed to be able to share my true passion to others.
